Shipping for makers
Your Big Cartel orders are waiting in Royal Mail Click & Drop the moment they're paid — address, items and weight already filled in. Spend drop day packing, not typing.
Big Cartel is brilliant at the shop part and deliberately quiet about the posting part. If you sell prints, merch, ceramics, zines or anything else that goes in a parcel, you know the routine: open the order, copy the address, switch tabs, paste, re-type the product, guess the weight, repeat. This integration removes the routine. Every paid order is pushed into Click & Drop by Royal Mail's own API, ready for a label.
That is exactly who it is for. The cost isn't the typing, it's the one mis-keyed postcode that comes back three weeks later and costs you the postage twice plus an unhappy customer. For less than the price of two Tracked 48 labels a month, every address arrives in Click & Drop exactly as the customer typed it.
They all appear in Click & Drop as they are paid, so you can batch-select the lot, apply a service and print every label in one go. Nothing queues up on your side and nothing gets missed — the integration only ever sends new, paid orders, so there are no duplicates to untangle either.
Yes, through Royal Mail's own Shipping Rules engine inside Click & Drop. Give your Big Cartel products a weight and the rules do the rest. A typical maker setup:
Set it once and every order routes itself.
Yes. Orders from overseas customers sync in the same way, and Click & Drop produces the customs documentation for international services. Keep a clear product description and value on your Big Cartel listings and the paperwork fills itself in.
No. You authorise the connection from inside your own Big Cartel account, which grants access to order data only. You can revoke it from Big Cartel at any time and the integration simply stops. We'll also need your Royal Mail Click & Drop authorisation key, and we can walk you through finding it.
No — a standard Click & Drop account is enough. If you already have a Royal Mail OBA account, that works too. The integration talks to Royal Mail's API either way.
The integration, monitoring of Royal Mail's and Big Cartel's API changes (they do tweak things), updates when they do, and email support from the people who built it. No per-order or per-label fees on top.
Thirty days' notice, by email. Orders keep syncing through the notice period, then it switches off. Your Big Cartel and Click & Drop accounts are untouched.
