What It Does

This integration connects your Adobe Commerce store directly to Royal Mail Click & Drop. Orders placed on your store are pushed to Click & Drop using Royal Mail's official API — ready for label generation without any manual work.

Built for high-volume stores where copying addresses by hand stopped being viable a long time ago.

  • Automatic order sync from Adobe Commerce to Royal Mail Click & Drop
  • Auto-sends only new orders — no duplicates
  • Full order and customer details synced accurately
  • Secure API connection using your Royal Mail authorisation key
  • All Royal Mail shipping services supported
  • Works with both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source 2.x

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this for Adobe Commerce or Magento?

Both. Adobe renamed the commercial edition to Adobe Commerce, while the free edition kept the Magento name as Magento Open Source. The integration works with either — it talks to your store's API, which is the same in both.

What's the cost to run this?

£6.99 per month after a free first month. That covers the integration itself, ongoing updates and support — no per-order or per-label fees on top.

What credentials will you need?

API access to your Adobe Commerce store — we'll walk you through creating an integration user with only the permissions we need, rather than sharing an admin login. We'll also need your Royal Mail Click & Drop authorisation key.

Will this cope with our order volume?

Yes — the sync is designed around stores doing meaningful volume, and only ever picks up orders it hasn't already sent. If you're shipping hundreds a day, tell us during onboarding and we'll confirm the polling frequency that suits you.

We run multiple store views or websites — is that a problem?

No. At setup we agree which store views feed orders to Click & Drop, so a trade site or a non-shipping view doesn't generate postage jobs.

Can I automatically pick the right Royal Mail service based on parcel weight?

Yes — this is handled by Royal Mail's own Shipping Rules engine inside Click & Drop, which evaluates each incoming order and applies a service based on rules you define.

A common weight-based setup:

  • UK letter under 100g → Royal Mail 2nd Class Letter
  • UK parcel 0–2kg → Royal Mail Tracked 48
  • UK parcel 2.01–5kg → Royal Mail Tracked 24
  • International → International Tracked & Signed

Adobe Commerce holds product weights natively, so those are passed through with each order and drive the rule matching.

Do I need a Royal Mail OBA account, or will Click & Drop do?

Either works. The integration talks to Royal Mail's API regardless of whether you're on a standard Click & Drop subscription or a Royal Mail OBA business account.

What kind of support comes with the monthly fee?

Royal Mail occasionally adjust or update their systems. We monitor those changes, patch the integration when needed, and answer questions over email or a scheduled call — all included in the subscription.

How does cancellation work?

You can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. The integration carries on running during the notice period and then stops — without an active subscription, it won't continue to sync.

Do you take on other Adobe Commerce development work?

Yes — we regularly connect Adobe Commerce to accounting tools, CRMs, stock systems and bespoke dashboards. Get in touch and tell us what you're trying to build.

Who are Receptive?

A UK-based development company — Receptive Ltd — with offices in Cardiff and Cheltenham. Led by Ben Johnson, with over two decades' experience in web development and eCommerce integration.
